What are Oyen Preventive Care terms and conditions?


 

The Oyen Preventive Care Plan has been updated to the Oyen Pet Wellness plan as of 3 October 2023.

If you purchased the Oyen Pet Wellness Plan from 3 October 2023 onwards, the details & benefits of your plan will be slightly different than the following.

Coverage

We (Oyen) will reimburse you for the cost up to the number of treatments and max amount listed in your Oyen Preventive Care plan. Oyen Preventive Care only covers preventative or routine treatment for your pet, and can only reimburse for expenses incurred during your plan period. All reimbursements are subject to confirmation and validation by us (Oyen).

The values listed below represent the maximum annual reimbursement per category. Our coverage categories and amounts are subject to change. Coverage is displayed as the count (where applicable) / annual maximum.

  • Under the Care Plus plan, you can claim for vaccines up to 3 times throughout your plan period. The total amount reimbursed back is capped at RM210.
  • Under the Deluxe plan, if your pet received both blood tests on the same visit, you can only claim for 1 of them.


Exclusions

  1. Any treatment for accident or illness covered by Oyen’s Pet Insurance policy or any other pet insurance policy
  2. Any treatment that is covered by insurance policy (Oyen and MSIG)
  3. Any vaccines that are not 4-in-1 (for cat) or 6-in-1 (for dogs) core vaccines
  4. Any blood tests that are not complete blood count (CBC) and chemistry profile (CHEM) tests
  5. Pre-surgical CBC and CHEM tests, except if the surgery is related to preventive care treatment (e.g. spaying and neutering surgeries)
  6. Any deworming and deflea products purchased to be administered at home, or by anyone other than the attending vet
  7. Services provided by referred specialists, and second opinions
  8. Taxes and discounts (e.g. amounts reimbursable will ignore SST)
  9. Any treatment before the purchase of Preventive Care plan, and after the plan expires

Eligibility

Preventive care plans only apply to cats and dogs. There is no age restriction for pets.


Claims Procedure

  1. You must submit claims within 30 days after the treatment date. The treatment date is referring to the invoice or receipt date. You may submit a claim for 1 pet at a time.
  2. Submission must attach the invoice or receipt with the following information:-
    • Itemized bill showing clear breakdown of medical cost
    • Details of vet clinic (name, address and contact details)
    • Pet’s name
    • Pet owner’s name
    • Date and time of treatment
    • Total amount paid
    • Proof of payment
  3. We (Oyen) do not accept handwritten receipts.
  4. We (Oyen) have the right to approve or deny submissions if any of the conditions above are not met. You will be notified via email on the claim’s status within 3 working days.
  5. You will be reimbursed within 5 working days from the approval date. The funds will be transferred to the bank details provided by you .
  6. The bank account holder must be the same individual as the plan owner of the preventive care plan.
  7. The amount reimbursed will be capped at the maximum amount of each benefit, at the time when you purchased the plan. This is to avoid any impact from price changes.

Cancellation Policy

  1. You may cancel anytime during the plan period subject to the following cancellation policy.
  2. If you haven’t submitted a claim, or only have rejected or withdrawn claims:
    • Cancellation request is within the first 60 days: You will receive a refund in full.
    • Cancellation request is after 60 days: You will not be refunded.
  3. If you have submitted claims (including claims that are pending review, pending payment or have been successfully reimbursed): You will not be refunded.
  4. The plan is canceled upon receiving an email confirmation from us (Oyen)
  5. Customers will be refunded within 5 working days from the email confirmation date. The funds will be transferred to the payment method provided by you.
  6. The bank account holder must be the same individual as the plan owner of the preventive care plan.
  7. The amount refunded will be based on the price purchased by you
