With annual travel insurance, you can travel to a variety of destinations depending on the coverage area specified in your policy.
Here are the coverage areas typically defined in travel insurance policies:
Area 1
This includes countries such as Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China (excluding Mongolia & Tibet), Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Area 2
This includes Bhutan, Europe, Mongolia, Nepal, Tibet, United Kingdom, and countries in Area 1.
Area 3
This includes worldwide coverage and countries in Area 1 and 2, but it usually excludes countries like Afghanistan, Belarus, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Russia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Venezuela. If you have multiple destinations with a transit time of more than 12 hours, the coverage area that provides the broadest geographical coverage will apply.
