Changes to Note:

Waiting Period Adjustment: The waiting period for new policies will be changed to 30 days. If you're a renewal customer, this adjustment does not affect you.

Exclusions of Certain Vaccine-Preventable Illnesses: Unfortunately, rabies, canine distemper, and parvovirus will no longer be covered under the new policy.

Alternative Therapy Exclusions: The new policy excludes treatments such as chiropractic services, acupuncture, acupressure, physiotherapy, and similar therapies.

Parasite-Related Exclusions: Illnesses caused by fleas, worms, tapeworms, ticks, and mites, including related diagnoses and treatments, are now excluded.

Good News - Expanded Hereditary Condition Coverage: For pets under Oyen policies initiated before the age of 6, specific hereditary conditions will be covered after a 12-month waiting period (that means you!). This includes conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, patella luxation, glaucoma, cherry eye, IVDD, and more.
Why These Changes?
These adjustments are introduced by our insurance partner to ensure the long-term sustainability of our pet insurance portfolio. Your feedback has also led to a positive update on the expanded hereditary condition coverage. While some exclusions have been introduced, it's crucial to recognize that Oyen continues to cover a wide array of pet health issues.

- Diarrhea/Intestinal Upset
- Skin Infection: Fungal, Allergies
- Ear Infection
- Vomiting/Upset Stomach
- Accidents: Bruises, Contusion
- Urinary Issues
- Pancreatitis
- Urinary Tract Infections / Bladder Infections
